Non-attachment helps you live in a state of freedom and happiness. By being happy in the present moment, no matter what is going on around you, you will always feel God's presence. Be calmly active and actively calm. That is the way of the yogi.
Objective conditions and all events and circumstances are neutral. It is how you react to them that makes you sad or happy. Always react with unconditional love and gratitude, and you will find events that appear unpleasant will just mysteriously melt away and not affect you inner joy.
The essence of yoga is to neutralize the waves of reaction in the heart. You will never be able to change everything outwardly in such a way as to make them pleasant to you. Change yourself. Awaken now, and transcend your ego consciousness.
